How long do Sweetkart sweets stay fresh?
This is the question we are asked most often, usually by someone buying ahead of a festival and working out whether they can order now or should wait. Here is the straight answer, product by product.

Why those two last longer
Both are dry. The trail mix is whole nuts, seeds and dried fruit loose in a jar. Nutri Masala Crunch is nuts and seeds roasted in A2 cow ghee and tossed in spices. Neither is bound into a soft bite — and it is moisture that shortens a sweet's life.
Our bites are held together by dates or figs, which is exactly what makes them good and also exactly what makes them a three-month product rather than a twelve-month one. There is no way to have one without the other, short of adding something we do not want to add.
Why not longer
Because there are no preservatives in any of it. That is a real trade-off and we would rather say so plainly than quietly put something in to stretch the date on the label. These are made in small batches and meant to be eaten, not stored.
It is worth knowing that a shelf life is not a cliff edge. It is the window in which we are willing to stand behind how the product tastes and holds together. We would simply rather you ate them well inside it.
How to store them
A cool, dry place at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. That is the whole of it — no refrigeration needed, and a cupboard is better than a shelf by a window.
Heat and sunlight are what shorten the window, so the two places to avoid are a sunny sill and a parked car. If a box has spent an afternoon in either, it has not gone off, but it has used up some of its best weeks.
Buying ahead for a festival
Three months is more room than most people expect. Ordering four or five weeks before Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj or a wedding is comfortable, and it takes you out of the last-minute week when couriers everywhere are at their slowest and every sweet shop in the country is at its busiest.

If you are gifting
The person receiving the box has the same window from the date it was made — not from the date they open it. For a single gift that rarely matters. For a corporate order of fifty boxes going out over a fortnight it matters a great deal, and it is the first thing we work backwards from when someone asks us to quote.
